Level 6 placement at FDC: Placement in Level 6 classes at Fitch Dance Company is by evaluation only. Please note that being placed in one Level 6 class doesn’t automatically mean placement in all Level 6 classes.

Because every dancer is unique, placement isn’t based on age alone. Our FDC staff carefully consider a variety of factors to ensure each dancer is placed where they’ll feel confident, challenged, and supported. If a dancer does not meet the age requirement but demonstrates exceptional ability, placement may be considered by evaluation. These decisions are made thoughtfully and with the dancer’s long-term development in mind.

Ballet 6

Level 6 Ballet is designed for dedicated dancers who demonstrate strong technique, artistry, and commitment. Placement is by evaluation only and determined solely by FDC staff. This class challenges dancers with advanced ballet vocabulary and technique, complex combinations, and refined performance quality. Students in Level 6 Ballet are expected to have a solid foundation in classical technique and a strong work ethic. Our goal is to help each dancer reach their highest potential in a supportive, professional environment.

Pointe

Fitch Dance Company’s Pointe class is designed for dancers with a strong technical foundation who are ready to take the next step in their ballet training. This class focuses on developing the strength, alignment, and control required to dance safely and confidently on pointe. Placement is by evaluation only and determined by FDC staff to ensure each dancer is physically prepared and technically ready for pointe work. Ballet must be taken concurrently, as a strong technical foundation is essential for success in pointe. Dancers will build proper technique through barre and center exercises, with a strong emphasis on injury prevention, correct placement, and graceful execution. Pointe is both a technical milestone and an exciting achievement in a dancer’s journey.
